Like all really old cities, York is compact. No place is far from another and no place is hard to find. To get to the real heart of York you need to explore on foot.
So leave your Car in the hotels on site car park and then take a peaceful stroll along the banks of the River Ouse into the heart of York's centre.
After a hard days sightseeing rest your feet in the new cellar bar. This new addition to the hotel is full of character and charm and serves a variety of drinks to suit all tastes.
The Blue Bridge Hotel caters for all needs, providing a wide range of room options. On offer are: single, budget double/twin, standard double/twin (pictured opposite), family en-suite and Superior suites. All standard double/twin rooms have been fully refurbished for 2001.
Each standard room is stylishly decorated and luxuriously furnished. All standard rooms at the hotel are fully equipped with en-suite facilities, colour TV, direct dial telephone and well stocked refreshment tray.
A full English breakfast is freshly cooked by our resident chef and served in our bright and comfortable dining room.

Directions
By car Whichever direction you approach York from, you will arrive at the outer ring road. Take the shortest circuit to the York - Selby A19 south junction. Follow this road for about two miles towards the city centre. The hotel is located on the right side of the road, look out for the blue awnings over the windows.
By train Frequent trains are operated to York from London, Peterborough, Newcastle - upon - Tyne, Edinburgh and Glasgow by Great North Eastern Railways; from Birmingham, Bristol, the West Country and South Wales by Virgin Cross - Country; and from Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds by Regional Railways North East. For all railway enquiries ring (0345) 484950 (day or night).
York railway station is located just outside the city walls. Taxi's are available from outside the exit of the station. The journey to the hotel should take about five minutes and cost about £3.00
By sea York is only an hours drive from Hull Docks, the destination of daily overnight sailings by P&O North Sea Ferries from Rotterdam (Europoort) in the Netherlands and Zeebrugge in Belgium. For non - motorists National Express runs a connecting coach from outside Hull Docks to York.
By air The nearest airport is Leeds / Bradford (28 miles). Newcastle - Upon - Tyne and Manchester International Airport are also very accessible. A direct train service (hourly by day, less frequent at night) connects York with Manchester International Airport in less than 2 hours.
